AGF Continues to Suspend Data Supply

Frankfurt am Main, 15.01.2018:

Up until and including at least Thursday of this week, Arbeitsgemeinschaft Videoforschung (AGF) will not provide any up-to-date TV performance data. The reason for this is a transmission problem between the responsible market research institute GfK and the measuring households that are equipped with TC scoring measuring devices.

GfK is presently working with great effort to restore the connection to the measuring households. “The measures taken are having an effect and GfK is achieving progress in reactivating the measuring households”, explained AGF’s managing director Willibald Müller. AGF continues to assume unchanged that no data have been lost as a result of the transmission disruption. Where the measures taken to resolve the problem and ensure quality continue to progress quickly, AGF intends to recommence providing preliminary TV use data on Friday. At the same time, the data that have not been provided to date will be conclusively analysed and made available on the market. AGF will provide notice this week of when that will take place.

AGF Videoforschung (AGF Video Research) is a cooperative venture between the channels ARD, Discovery Communications Deutschland, Mediengruppe RTL Deutschland, ProSiebenSat.1 Media, Sky Deutschland, Tele 5, Viacom, WeltN24 and ZDF for the common pursuit and continued development of continuous quantitative recording of the use of moving-image content in Germany, including the gathering and analysis of data. It continues to spend a multimillion Euro sum annually to develop its suite of instruments in order to provide the market on a daily basis with reliable data on the use of moving-image content. Along with its shareholders, licensees, advertisers and media agencies participate in designing the measurement and research undertaken by AGF Videoforschung.
